African Alliance MD/CEO, Joyce Ojemudia to Chair Pride Women Conference 2021

The MD/CEO of African Alliance Insurance Plc, Joyce Ojemudia will chair the fifth edition of the Pride Women Conference, taking place in May 2021.

The Pride Women Conference aims to outline strategic objectives and actions for the emotional and material wellbeing of the 21st-century woman, her family, and society.

The year 2020 was stressful due to the often devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. In light of this, the organisers have as the theme of the 2021 conference, “Thriving Emotionally, Economically and Physically in the Post COVID-19 World”.

“Women were especially hard-hit by the pandemic,” said Ijeoma Anyiam-Osigwe, Convener of the Pride Women Conference. “The focus this year should be on recovery – recovering from the trauma and various setbacks and also building a better world that values and rewards the labour and efforts of women. That way, women can find balance, in particular emotional balance and happiness, in all aspects of their lives.”

Joyce Ojemudia also expressed similar sentiments: “The pandemic opened our eyes to new ways of collaboration and better ways of being present for one another despite the pervading gloom. As we move on from the ripples of the pandemic, it is pertinent to continue to maintain the momentum as we head for total recovery. This is why the theme of this year’s Pride Women Conference is as topical as it is important. I am honoured to be chairing this year’s conference. It is my hope that we will push the needle as it comes to women empowerment with regard to recovering from the setbacks/trauma of the pandemic whilst advancing the positives therein.”

The 2021 event would be a hybrid event with physical attendees and simultaneously streamed live on the Conference YouTube channel.
