Onyeka Onwenu is an award-winning multitalented artiste. She is a singer/songwriter, actor, television journalist and author. Ms Onwenu is also a politician and public administrator, with a proven track record as a former Director General of the National Centre for Women Development. She has thrived in the Nigerian entertainment industry for over forty years, with no signs of letting up. She has written numerous hit songs that can be described as soundtracks to Nigerian life. Her body of work in Nollywood is equally worthy of recognition. In 2021, Onyeka Onwenu published her memoir, My Father’s Daughter which has been extremely well received – described as ‘unputdownable’. Ms Onwenu is also a social critic and activist, an artiste who uses her entertainment platform to address burning issues in the society.
