Motunrayo Oyemade is the Founder of Wives & Mothers, an insightful social media platform whose aim is to inspire, educate, inform, entertain and celebrate motherhood.

She studied English language at the University of Lagos and worked at an advertising agency. However, she considers being a wife and a mother as among the most demanding roles for any woman, especially when the woman is an entrepreneur or a career woman.

Wives & Mothers was based on Motunrayo’s personal experience as a wife and mother. She believes every woman can achieve their purpose even with the challenging and natural role bestowed on them. She has used her platform to help a lot of mothers, including providing solutions and advice, baby items for mothers who can’t afford them, and funds for hospital bills and business start-ups.

Driven by her innate passion to help mums in need, she organises a yearly event – Feed a Family Drive – in Lagos’ slum areas during the festive season to provide pregnant and nursing mothers with food and baby items. She also educates the mothers on family planning, weight loss, postpartum depression, the wellness of their babies, and sources of income that could support their families.

Motunrayo aims to empower as many women as possible because she believes motherhood is not a barrier to achieving greatness. She is married with three children.

Motunrayo will be speaking on “My Family Is My Life: Parenting and Emotional Well-Being” at this year’s conference.
