Ayodele Alabi is an award-winning corporate affair professional, corporate compère, creative writer and published author with over 15 years of varied and extensive experience in strategic corporate communications.
With a first-class degree in communications, and a master’s degree in business management, Ayodele’s extensive working experience has covered areas such as corporate communications, employee engagement, public relations and media management, investor relations, sustainability communications, reputation management, government relations, diversity and inclusion, equity, crisis and change management, digital campaigns and special events direction.
Ayodele started her career with Globacom Nigeria, where she worked briefly, before joining Unilever Nigeria as a Management Trainee in the Unilever Future Leaders Programme. After six years working in varied roles and across geographies, she moved to Guinness Nigeria Plc (a Diageo company) as the Head of Corporate Communications and Employee Experience. In 2023, she joined Nigerian Breweries as Head of Integrated & Corporate Communications, responsible for coordinating the organisation’s communication efforts while ensuring a strong, positive corporate reputation, and for delivering inspiring employee engagement for business performance.
Through her spirited personality, her creative mind, her writing and public speaking skills, Ayodele has transformed brands’ perception and reputation, and has helped develop various guidelines and strategy documents for several projects within and outside organisations she works. This and many other personal and career accomplishments have earned her a number of awards and recognitions over the years.
Of note is Ayodele commitment to diversity and inclusion. At a male-dominated manufacturing company like Guinness Nigeria, for instance, she improved the company’s female engagement by leading the activities of its Spirited Women’s Network, transforming the network to a community of learning and impact and delivering significant improvement in the business’ diversity and inclusion score. This earned her a nomination at the very first Diageo Global Inclusion Awards in 2023 in the “Action Through Inclusion” category.
Ayodele the author of the book, Happiest Girl in the Room, where she shares her journey through the dark clouds of widowhood, and how she found her way back to the light. Turning her pain into purpose, Ayodele’s book is helping people deal with their trauma and find joy again. She also shares her thoughts with the world via her podcast, The Happiest Diaries, as well as through her blog and website, to inspire finding purpose, happiness and intentional living.
