Dr Honest Anaba is the Co-Founder of Resurgence Mental Health Support Initiative and is a recovery coach and addiction medicine specialistst, who implements client-focused and evidence-based practices with a holistic care model aimed at improving treatment retention and outcomes.

He is the Lead SMART Recovery International Facilitator in Nigeria. He consults at Olive Multispecialist Hospital, Heda Hospital, and Lighthouse Lekki Recovery Home, with multiple success stories in mental health and addiction rehabilitation.

Since commencing his medical career at University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan after graduating from Igbinedion University Okada, Dr Anaba has functioned as a Programs Manager at the Alcohol and Drugs Referral Services, a Resident Physician at the House of Refuge Rehabilitation Centre, and a Medical Officer at the Drop-In Centre for Harm Reduction at Freedom Foundation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

He is a member of the Nigerian Medical Association; International Society of Addiction Medicine; International Society of Substance Use Professionals; and Nigerian Society of Addiction Medicine. He is certified in Advanced Addiction Psychopharmacology; American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry; Prescription Drug Misuse by Stanford University; Gambling Disorder in Your Practice by Harvard Medical School; Comorbidity Guidelines by The University of Sydney; Addiction Treatment: Clinical Skills for Healthcare Providers by Yale University; and Provincial Opioid Addiction Treatment Support Program by University of British Columbia, to mention a few. He has also attended workshops organised by the EU, UNODC, CRISA, among others.
